Traditional Chinese Medicine

The Therapeutic Process

Traditional Chinese Medicine [Commonly written in short form as TCM] is a practice built up of several different aspects; Acupunture, Acupressure, Tui Na, Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Herbalism. As a practitoner of TCM; I work with Tui Na, which is Traditional Chinese Massage; Acupunture, Acupressure, Tai Chi and Chi Kung, however at this time I do not work with Herbalism. Instead I have chosen to specialise in Massage, Energy work such as Reiki and Crystal Therapy as a replacement to Herbalism.

As a Practitioner of TCM, I will work either on skin or through clothing, using Meridian stretches, Massage movements such as push/pull and Acupressure techniques on points that help to relieve stress, pain, as well as calm the mind and emotions. I help you through Tai Chi & Chi Kung movements to continue your TCM journey and its benefits as well as show you Acupressure points that you can work with in your own space when you are in need of release from general pains or stress.

TCM can be adapted for clients with mobility issues, where climbing onto a Therapy Couch can be an issue, TCM can be done on mats at ground level. It can also be adapted for clients that may have personal space concerns or may wish (at least until comfortable) to remain clothed, as mentioned above it is possible for TCM to be performed through clothing or directly to the skin.

Typically your TCM Session will last 60 mins / an hour. However please allow for extra time when it is your first session with me, as I do like to do a full and througough consultation.
